The first concert in the Open Living Room series will take place Monday, September 17th: Experience the amazing soul voice of Beharie in an intimate concert in Kim and Ann Margritts living room on Muusøya in Drammen.
The 24-year-old musician, pianist, composer, songwriter and singer Christian Beharie is a unique singing talent. He studies performing music in Oslo with vocal as a main instrument and he is also promoted by Talent Norway, among others.
The concert is part of the concept of Open Living Room, a series of concerts during the Drammen Sacred Music Festival, which takes place in the living room of people from Drammen hosting a concert.
Soul meets pop
With a father from Jamaica, the Caribbean rhythms found their way from their living room speakers and into Beharie’s musical expression. He got an early sense of the African American legends, but with the years he was inspired by elements he met in pop music.
His sound today unites soul with the pop gender, and, in the encounter between urban roots and clever melody lines, a unique sound image is created. With his powerful but soft voice, Beharie and his song material have a distinctive presence that captures you from the first tone (source: Rogalyd.no).
Beharie has been a vocalist in the funk / soul group Talking People and the Salvare gospel choir. He was part of Team Sigvart (Sigvart Dagsland, red report) under the TV program “Det store korslaget” and participated in the sixth season of “Idol”.
