Did you know that the Quran has a broader range of stories of Mary, the mother of Jesus, than the Bible? Drammen Sacred Music Festival in cooperation with Fjell Church presents this production in a play where Mary from the Quranic stories meet with Mary from the Bible – and Mary in daily life.
Mehda Zolfaqari is a storyteller with a muslim background. The biblical Mary is presented through the voice of Anne Berit Evang who is working as a priest in Church of Norway in Oslo. Solfrid Molland is a musician who has had her own experiences of Marys in her life. She plays the harmonium, sings and tell stories.
All three of the artists are presenting stories about how their meeting with Mary has shaped them as inviduals and professionals. The stories are followed by songs and music from both traditions.
The performance is in Norwegian language.
